Mozambique

Africa's next natural beach getaway....Mozambique’s unspoilt beaches are fast becoming the perfect add-on beach destination for tourist seeking a pristine, natural beach getaway.

Visit our New Programs page to see our beach holidays to Mozambique. http://www.africasafaris.com/01newprograms.asp. With 2,500 km of unspoilt coastline (the same length as the Eastern Seaboard of the USA), major archipelagos, numerous coral reef islands and some of the finest snorkeling and scuba diving in the India Ocean, it seems that Mozambique is set to challenge other Indian Ocean Island Destinations in the eco and adventure tourism categories. The Bazaruto Archipelago. A sting of islands about 40 kms off the coast, are currently the most popular holiday region in the country. The main islands are Santa Carolina, Bazaruto, Benguerra and Magaruque which can be accessed through Vilanculous International Airport. There are daily flights from Johannesburg and flights 4 times a week from Kruger National Park. The palm fringed sand dunes and inland salt lakes attract more than 240 bird species. In the clear waters are coral reefs, more than 2,000 species of tropical fish, and extensive sea-grass beds - home to turtles and the only viable population of manatee-like dugong's on Africa's east coast.
