Savute Channel Flows past Savute Safari Lodge for the first time in 30 years.  At 6:20 am on January 15, 2010 the Savuti Channel, which had been pushing up just short of Savute Safari Lodge for the past few weeks, broke through and came flowing right past the lodge. The lodge Managers, Mark and Lizl had the awesome experience of actually seeing it happen. Within five hours there was a fully fledged flowing river past the front of the lodge. This is very exciting news as it is going to bring a whole new dynamic to the Savuti region for this season. This is the first time in 30 years that this section of the Savuti has experienced flowing water!!
