Offsetting Carbon Emissions for your holiday in Zambia.  The subject of climate change is one that has been simmering for many years but seems, more recently, to have very much come to the boil. Just recently it was suggested that Norman Carr Safaris & Robin Pope Safaris donate money on behalf of their guests to an international carbon offsetting company, thus balancing some of the emissions created getting clients to Africa. On researching the company in question and others like it they could find none that promised to send more than 60% of your donation to the offsetting projects they supported. This was not high enough in their minds and prompted them to act locally. They are setting up a tree planting scheme in Mfuwe that will be run in conjunction with their existing school project. Travel agents and individual travelers can donate $20 dollars a head and we will guarantee that every cent will be spent on planting trees and on a lecture program through local schools to explain to the next generation, the dangers of deforestation.

Ebenezer Orphanage and school.  AfricaTours supports several worthy projects in various areas in Africa.  We encourage our clients to visit and participate in these worthy programs. We will feature the charities that we support in forthcoming Newsletters.  Ebenezer in Livingstone Zambia is of of the charities that we support through donations and arranging visits for our clients.  Ebenezer Child Care Trust started out in 2001 as a feeding program for the local street children, many of whom had been orphaned when their parents died from HIV/AIDS. The Trust has since evolved into owning four houses where the street children and orphans can live, and provides an education and a place to call home and someone to call Mother for children ranging in age from 5 to 18 years.
