Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1 Okavango Delta: Stanley’s Camp/Baines Camp (LD)
This trip begins at Maun airport in Botswana, where you will be met by a camp representative and fly via light aircraft to Stanley’s Camp or Baines Camp in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Enjoy an afternoon of game viewing.

STANLEY’S CAMP: Set in an amphitheatre of ebony and sausage trees on the Southern Tip of Chief’s Island. The area is home to a wide variety of big game including elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hippo, lion, cheetah and wild dog. Stanley’s is a small luxury camp consisting of 8 classic styled safari tents. The delicately appointed tents exude classic Africa; hand crafted beds dressed with the finest linen, antique furniture individually selected and oriental carpets that give a delightful glimpse at colonial Africa. Each tent offers attached bathrooms and a private balcony. The main building is raised on decking and offers expansive views over the surrounding floodplains. Game Drives are conducted in open 4 wheel drive vehicles, which offer unencumbered views. Walking activities are offered throughout the year and are conducted with armed guides. Mokoro (dugout canoe) activities are also offered 12 months of the year, as are night game drives.

BAINES CAMP: Set amongst the shady trees and water of the Okavango Delta, the small and intimate Baines Camp features just 5 luxurious suites set on elevated platforms in the tree line. Wooden decks offer expansive views over the permanent water of the Boro River and a lagoon teeming with life. The elevated suites feature a spacious bedroom; the four-poster beds are fully mobile, giving guests the choice of slumber under star laden skies. The main area features an oversize deck for outdoor dining and views over the permanent water of the lagoon, as well as a swimming pool for refreshing sunbathing. The permanent water reveals a world of floating safaris by mokoro or faster in a comfortable shaded motorboat. Walking safaris are a speciality at Baines, with skilled, armed guides introducing the area's natural wonders.

Day 2 Okavango Delta: Stanley’s Camp/Baines Camp (BLD)
Enjoy a full day of activities at this camp. OPTIONAL MEET THE HERD ADDITIONAL $310 PER PERSON. JOIN THE HERD (4 ½ hours): Starts at 8:30 am: Guests arrive by vehicle at a prearranged venue; elephants are feeding nearby but not obviously visible. Elephant host meets guests, gives safety instructions for eles and wild animals, reassures regarding radio communications, protection, first aid and refreshments, chaperon guests to elephants as a group. Introduction to elephants as a group (i.e. names, sexes, ages etc). The chaperon invites the guests to come up and touch one of the elephants. The elephants enjoy interacting with the guest’s e.g. guests can gently lead an elephant while it gently rests its trunk tip in their hand. Guests are also invited to experience an elephant kiss. Once guests are comfortable with the elephants, the days adventure starts. It is explained to the guests that they will be walking at a leisurely pace with the elephants, observing their behavior, getting personally acquainted with them, and discussing a few elephant issues. During the walk other animals are encountered and are often approached relatively close due to the presence of the elephants. Discussion on other animals, birds, the vegetation and relevance to elephants takes place along the way. The walk ends at the picnic spot, under large shade trees, by a lagoon before the hottest part of the day. A set table waits in the shade. Brunch is a luxurious affair with wine, food etc. The elephants are feed pre-cut fodder close to the table so their presence can be enjoyed. While guest relax after lunch, the elephant bull Jabu is brought over and he demonstrates a number of vocalizations on cue. A vehicle arrives to pick up guests and ferry them back to the lodge. The guests bid fond farewells to their new-found friends.

Day 3 Moremi Wildlife Reserve: Chief’s Camp (BLD)
After a morning of game viewing and breakfast, fly via light aircraft to Chief’s Camp. Enjoy an afternoon of game viewing. Located on the northwest tip of Chief’s Island, this private concession forms part of the Mombo Tourism Zone in the Moremi Game Reserve. Mombo is synonymous with excellent game viewing. The camp has been carefully crafted around the spectacular landscape, under canopies of Jackalberry, Sausage and Rain trees. The main deck area overlooks the tip of the island and is surrounded by floodwaters as they trickle southwards. Chief’s offers twelve luxury en-suite rooms with private viewing decks. The spacious rooms have been decorated in a contemporary ethnic African theme, assuring guests of privacy, comfort and seclusion. Activities range from guided walking safaris, night drives, and game drives in custom designed open Land Cruisers. Our skilled guides have years of bush experience and a special talent for sharing this knowledge with guests. A research library is located in the main lounge, and a swimming pool is available to cool off from the African sun.

Day 4 Moremi Wildlife Reserve: Chief’s Camp (BLD)

Day 5 Chobe National Park: Chobe Chilwero Lodge (BLD)
After breakfast fly by light aircraft to Kasane Airport where you will be met and driven to Chobe Chilwero Lodge. Enjoy an afternoon of game viewing. The charm of the Chobe...its magnificent river; its floodplains filled with grazing herds of big game. In the local language “Chilwero” means place of high view, an apt name for a camp whose canvas, glass & timber bungalows look out over lush flood plains ands river islands to Namibia on the horizon. You will enjoy creature comforts - elegantly appointed accommodations, silver service, gourmet meals and fine wines. Relax in the luxurious thatched cottages, with en-suite, sunken handcrafted baths, indoor and outdoor showers, private gardens and terraces overlooking the magnificent Chobe River. Game activities at are scheduled flexibly, according to the whims of guests and the changing habits of the game. Enjoy game drives in open 4X4 vehicles, or join our acclaimed guides on a wondrous water safari. End each day with a refreshing dip in the swimming pool, followed by a sumptuous meal - a delicious, eclectic fusion of Western and African cuisine and delicacies and vintage wines and spirits. Indulge in-room spa treatments. Therapies range from a Clarins Ultimate Firming Facial to a Full Body Swedish Massage, to relax and invigorate in true African style.

Day 6 Chobe National Park: Chobe Chilwero Lodge (BLD)
Enjoy a full day of game viewing.

Day 7 Departure (B)
After breakfast and a morning game drive, you will be driven to Livingstone airport for your departure flight.
