Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1 Depart the USA from your choice of gateway. FLY South African Airways to Johannesburg.

Day 2 Johannesburg: Airport Sun Intercontinental
Arrive into Johannesburg, after clearing customs make your own way to the hotel. Located 50 meters from the arrival and departure at Johannesburg International Airport. The hotel has 109 luxury guest rooms, 26 executive rooms, 2 executive suites, and 1 room for the disabled, 69 non-smoking rooms & 5 inter-leading rooms. Each room has air-conditioning, interactive TV System offering airline flight information, and satellite TV & pay movie channel. Each room also has direct dial telephone, voice mail, wake up call, modem connection, cell phone re-charger, express checkout, coffee & tea maker, hairdryer, minibar, attached bathroom with a separate shower and a separate closet. The hotel has a first class restaurant with an informal atmosphere, offering modern cuisine from breakfast through to late night a la carte dinning. The cocktail bar is an ideal meeting place for the international traveler. In-room dining with an optional “flight-friendly” menu is available. The hotel also has a health and fitness center, massage (by appointment), and indoor pool. Golf, tennis and IMAX Theater are all nearby.

Day 3 Victoria Falls: Victoria Falls Hotel (B)
After breakfast, make your way to the International Terminal. FLY to Victoria Falls, arrive into Victoria Falls, where you will be met by an AfricaTours representative and escorted to the hotel. The internationally acclaimed Victoria Falls Hotel, set in acres of private gardens, was established in 1904 and for over ninety years, visiting members of Royal families, Heads of State, celebrates, authors, journalists and poets, have preferred to stay at the Victoria Falls Hotel, where they are assured of total privacy, comfort and care. The suites and rooms are well appointed, cool and comfortable; each room is air-conditioned, and has every modern amenity. The beautifully appointed Edwardian swimming pool, is surrounded by lush gardens and exotic trees, and gives total privacy. Two all-weather tennis courts are in the grounds and golf and other sporting activities are only a short ride away.

Day 4 Victoria Falls: Victoria Falls Hotel (B)
Enjoy a day at leisure and all the amenities offered by the hotel. The Victoria Falls Hotel offers guided walks down the hotel Garden Path to the Rain Forest, Guided Historical Tours of The Victoria Falls Hotel. Guide shopping trips to the local craft market. Each evening a snack platter is served on the terrace between 5 – 7 pm.

Day 5 Chobe National Park: Chobe Game Lodge (BLD)
After breakfast, drive to Chobe National Park (approximately 2 hrs including border formalities). Enjoy an afternoon game drive. Chobe Game Lodge is one of Botswana’s most exclusive safari resorts. Situated in the remote and unspoiled northern extremity of the park, the lodge offers every luxury and comfort for your adventures in the wild. The architecture is Moorish and graceful – high arches; barrel-vault ceilings and tiled floors create an atmosphere of tranquility and spaciousness. All 48 rooms are tastefully furnished and cooled by overhead punkah-punkah fans. All rooms overlook the perennial Chobe River and adjacent Caprivi floodplain. Facilities within the lodge include a well-stocked curio shop, wildlife reference library and stylishly decorated Linyanti Bar and lounge area. The cuisine is superb with a hint of African flavor and variety. The game rangers are highly experienced and fully committed to the continued preservation and conservation of Botswana’s National Parks and wildlife.

Day 6 Chobe National Park: Chobe Game Lodge (BLD)
Enjoy a full day of activities at this camp.

Day 7 Moremi Wildlife Reserve: Camp Moremi (BLD)
After breakfast, fly in a light aircraft to Camp Moremi. A magnificent elevated tree lodge with a lounge, dinning room, library, cocktail bar and large sundeck area. A boma for breakfasts, lunches and bonfires in the evening. There is a plunge pool and an elevated observation platform overlooking the Xakanaxa lagoon. The camp consist of 11 twin bedded east African style safari tents, each with private hot shower and waterborne toilet which are connected to the tent by an enclosed Lethhaka (reeded) walkway accessed through the rear exit to the tent. All tents are beautifully furnished with Rhodesian Teak wardrobes, luggage racks, chairs, dressing tables and bedside tables, rustic woven rugs, designer linen and matching interior blinds. Activities include game viewing drives by open safari vehicles, boat excursions and fishing on request.

Day 8 Moremi Wildlife Reserve: Camp Moremi (BLD)
Enjoy a full day of activities at this camp.

Day 9 Okavango Delta:
Camp Okavango (BLD)
After breakfast, transfer to Camp Okavango via riverboat. Camp Okavango is situated on Nxaragha Island in the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta. The elegant thatched main building houses a cocktail bar, lounge and dinning room, while the open air patio caters for outdoor dinning. All game viewing activities are conducted by experienced naturalist guides and include exploring the Okavango by canoe, boat, bird watching, fishing and nature walks. Enjoy relaxing in the peace and quiet of this unspoiled and untouched corner of Africa. Camp Okavango only accommodates 22 guests in intimate exclusivity in walk through East African style safari tents with open-air private hot showers and waterborne toilets. Each tent is exquisitely furnished with Rhodesian Teak wardrobe, luggage rack, dressing table, bedside pedestal and colorful woven rugs.

Day 10 Okavango Delta: Camp Okavango (BLD)
Enjoy a full day of activities at this camp.

Day 11 Departure (BL)
After a morning of game viewing and lunch, transfer to Livingstone for your flight to Johannesburg and connecting South African Airways Flight to the USA.

Day 12 Arrive into the USA
