Day 1 Depart USA on South African Airways from your choice of gateways.
Day 2 Cape Town: Cape Grace Hotel
Arrive into Johannesburg and connect with your flight to Cape Town. Arrive into Cape Town, where you will be met by an AfricaTours representative and escorted to your hotel. A unique setting on its own promontory surrounded by water on three sides means that all rooms open onto views of Table Mountain, the yacht marina or a working harbor. Unpretentious luxury and service as an art and honor to dispense. . . Guests are welcomed into a world of quiet and calm comfort, which invites you to be yourself. Cape Grace offers a wide choice of accommodation. All guest rooms and suites are air-conditioned, have separate dressing rooms, walk in showers, separate toilets, double vanities, cable TV, direct dial telephone and generous lounge areas. Cape Grace family stays include coloring & activities book - designed by a local artist, the book takes children on a journey through Cape Town, starting and ending at Cape Grace and highlighting the best spots to visit. Story time in the library every evening at 6:00 pm, a selection of children's videos and DVD's, books and games, Cartoon Network and Animal Planet.
Day 3 Cape Town: Cape Grace Hotel (BL)
Enjoy a full day private tour of the beautiful Cape Peninsular, as this is a private tour, flexibility is the key. Highlights of the tour will include time in Hout Bay, once a fishing community and now a thriving residential area, a drive over dramatic Chapman’s Peak (PROVIDED THAT IT IS OPEN) with a 200 meter drop on one side and a 200 meter rise on the other. Enjoy a visit to Fishoek beach the Jackass penguin colony at Boulders Beach just outside of Simonstown, Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope, and the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Enjoy lunch at Black Marlin. A camellia-decked garden leads into a beautiful old house with lovely views of False Bay for lazy days or evenings gorging on seafood. The Black Marlin has an impressive wine list with sparkling wine by the glass and auction wines as features, and a menu boasting coconut prawn tempura, Knysna oysters, mussels in Madeira wine sauce, kingklip on the spit, seafood platters, crayfish thermidor, LM prawns and lubbers’ fare like ostrich steaks and carpetbagger fillet. There are pasta dishes too. Lunch has been pre-paid, in some instances there may be a surcharge for certain dishes – drinks are not included. You will be arriving between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to allow for some flexibility.
Day 4 Cape Town: Cape Grace Hotel (BL)
Today journey on a private tour of the famous Spier Wine Estate & Cheetah project & a visit to Robben Island in the afternoon. The Cape Winelands is not only about wine, this is an area of remarkable beauty, incredible history, fantastic and unique architecture, the vineyards in the area and the wine tasting just is an additional benefit. Enjoy a visit to Spier Wine Estate & Village; Spier is especially interesting to children as Spier offers much more than cellar tours and wine tasting. They have a cheetah park and equestrian center, a farm stall, a beautiful lake with an exquisite deli nearby for lakeside picnics, an amphitheatre for shows and concerts, and then The Village, filled with lovely shops, restaurants and entertainment facilities. Spier has made land available to a group of hand-raised cheetahs in the care of the Cheetah Outreach Program. Learn more about these incredible cats from a distance, or get up close and personal and even step inside the enclosure. Entrance donations help fund the Cheetah Outreach Program. Spier Eagle Encounter at Spier in Stellenbosch: Founded in December 2001 by Hank & Tracy Chalmers, Eagle Encounters is a bird of prey rehabilitation, education, conservation and eco-tourism center. Eagle Encounters is not a zoo and our birds do not live in cages. Take a stroll through our ‘weathering area’ where you can openly view the largest, smallest, strongest, fastest and cheekiest… Daily Falcon / Hawk Release Training. Enjoy lunch at Moyo. Moyo at Spier is an unforgettable outdoor dining experience that captures the essence of our unique Cape African culture. A fusion of modern sophisticated décor and distinctly African flavored dishes create an inspiring culinary affair. Relax and enjoy the spectacular vistas while you are treated to our own colorful brand of Cape African hospitality. The outdoor restaurant serves an extensive buffet menu as rich and exciting as the many diverse cultures we draw from. Live performers will entertain you to indigenous theatre, dance, opera and traditional storytelling from noon until midnight. Young visitors (under 12) are also welcome as we offer exciting programmers on ecology, drumming workshops, African storytelling and so much more! Lunch has been pre-paid, in some instances there may be a surcharge for certain dishes – drinks are not included. You will be arriving between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to allow for some flexibility. After lunch you will return to Cape Town for a tour of Robben Island. Ferries leave the Waterfront each day at 9, 10, and 11am, 12, 1, 2 & 3 pm. Each tour is 3 ½ hours including the 2 half-hour ferry rides. The tour includes a boat trip across Table Bay. A visit to the Maximum Security prison – this includes Nelson Mandela’s small cell where he spent 18 of his 27 years in incarceration. You will also have the opportunity to interaction with an ex-political prisoner and a 45-minute bus tour of the island, which includes the lime quarry, male Leper church, 19th century lighthouse, shipwrecks, views of Table Bay, Cape Gothic-style Garrison church.
Day 5 Cape Town: Cape Grace Hotel (B)
You will have a full day at leisure to explore “The Mother City”, you may wish to visit he Two Oceans Aquarium, the Scratch Patch, Maritime Museum, Imax Theatre, Red Shed Market, Exclusive Book Shop, harbor cruises, Rattan Junction and ice cream from San Marco all at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. OR you can venture out future to watch Changing of the Guards at the Castle, visit the Irma Stern and SA Museum, visit the Cape Townships, walk around the Cape Malay Quarter, and visit the many art galleries and more!!
Day 6 Private Game Reserve: Ulusaba Rock Lodge (BLD)
After breakfast, you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Nelspruit and connecting flight to Ulusaba Rock Lodge. Arrive into the Ulusaba airstrip, where you will be met by a camp representative and driven to the lodge. Enjoy an afternoon game drive. Ulusaba, meaning 'place of little fear', can be found amidst the breathtaking landscapes bordering the Kruger National Park. Ulusaba offers a unique combination of superb game viewing and fabulous leisure facilities combined with a level of style, comfort and service, that creates the ultimate safari experience. Discover the soul of Africa, where the forces of nature bring together a wilderness of beauty, spectacular wildlife and adventures that will remain with you for a lifetime. Carved deep into the Ulusaba rock itself and elevated high above the great Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve stands Rock Lodge. Representing the deep spirit of Africa the interiors have been designed with traditional colors and weavings to create a truly magical environment. Accommodation comprises of four Rock Rooms, four Rock Cliff Rooms, and a stunning stand alone, split level Master Suite, which is sure to bring out the romantic in you. The Rock Suite which comprises of two bedrooms, each with en-suite, is ideal for those wishing to bring children! Each of the luxurious ten bedrooms is air conditioned with private decks overlooking the far-reaching savannah below. The stunning infinity pool, with its natural waterfall, is the ideal location to enjoy the tranquility of the African bush. This magnificent lodge is sure to provide a spiritual awakening and adventure that will leave you longing to return to this special place. Children of all ages are welcome at Rock Lodge and will be invited to take part in Ulusaba Cub's Club. On arrival at Ulusaba all children will be given a Cub's Club Backpack which contains lots of little goodies to help keep them entertained and to help to educate them about the African Bush. In every child’s room there will be a special welcome letter and a list of phone numbers they can dial from their room so it is easy for them to get hold of other members of their pride, along with Ulusaba staff. Also for their safety, we have security guards on duty all night that will pay particular attention to rooms occupied by children. Activities include: a treasure hunt to help familiarize themselves with their surroundings, Story books in their rooms and in the Lounge. These include old favorites and ones with an African or animal theme, A great range of new and classic children's DVDs and videos that they can watch in the lounge, along with music CDs, We can arrange bedtime story telling in the Lounge complete with milk and cookies, or whatever normally helps get your cubs ready for bed. On departure, all children will be invited to become permanent members of Ulusaba Cub's Club and will receive a bi-annual newsletter and a birthday card. In addition to this we can also arrange Cub's Cuisine if you wish, such as pizza, toasted sandwiches, pasta etc. and a free babysitting service are available.
Day 7 Private Game Reserve: Ulusaba Rock Lodge (BLD)
Enjoy a morning and afternoon game drive. A typical day consists of an early wake up call at approximately 5:30 am where you will be served tea, coffee and cookies in the Lodge before your start off on your early morning game drive. You will return to the lodge at approximately 10:00 am where you will enjoy a full breakfast. The rest of the morning is yours to enjoy catching up on your sleep, swimming in the pool, browsing in the curio shop or participating in a game walk. Lunch is served at around 1:00 pm. At 3:30 pm enjoy tea and coffee before setting out on your afternoon/evening game drive. You will return to the lodge at around 7:30 pm in time to get ready for dinner either in the lodge or the boma (a boma is a reed enclosed outdoor eating area. You will eat under a starry African night with the calls of the wild in the distance – a truly memorable event).
Day 8 Private Game Reserve: Ulusaba Rock Lodge (BLD)

Day 9 Johannesburg: Airport Sun Intercontinental (B)
After a morning game drive and some leisure time you will be driven to the airstrip for your flight to Johannesburg. Arrive into Johannesburg, where you will be met by an AfricaTours representative and escorted to the hotel. Located 50 meters from the arrival and departure at Johannesburg International Airport. The hotel has 109 luxury guest rooms, 26 executive rooms, 2 executive suites, and 1 room for the disabled, 69 non-smoking rooms & 5 inter-leading rooms. Each room has air-conditioning, interactive TV System offering airline flight information, and satellite TV & pay movie channel. Each room also has direct dial telephone, voice mail, wake up call, modem connection, cell phone re-charger, express checkout, coffee & tea maker, hairdryer, minibar, attached bathroom with a separate shower and a separate closet. The hotel has a first class restaurant with an informal atmosphere, offering modern cuisine from breakfast through to late night a la carte dinning. The cocktail bar is an ideal meeting place for the international traveler. In-room dining with an optional “flight-friendly” menu is available. Day 10 Livingstone: Royal Livingstone (B)
After breakfast make your own way to the International Terminal. Arrive into Livingstone, where you will be met by an AfricaTours representative and escorted to the hotel. This evening enjoy a scheduled sundowner cruise. The Royal Livingstone is a 5 Star resort located within the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls. Every detail has been lovingly crafted to create the impression of being in another place in time, a time of romance and adventure. The bedrooms are two-story clusters inspired by the grand estate houses of a bygone era. The less adventurous might like to choose from sundowner cruises, game drives, bird watching and cycling safaris. Kamp Kwena, which is every child's idea of holiday heaven, is situated close to The Zambezi Sun & Royal Livingstone Hotel, giving parents plenty of free time to discover all the area's attractions. Children enjoy a varied range of activities that include full day or half day excursions to places of interest, daily fun and games and nature walks. This supervised haven is available to children from 2 - 12 years of age. Children between the ages of 2 - 4 must be accompanied by an adult, or babysitter (available at an extra cost). Staffs are specially selected and undergo extensive training in child-care and first aid, ensuring that the child and the parent feel protected and secure.
Day 11 Livingstone: Royal Livingstone (B)
This morning you will be met by your guide for a private tour “Mists of time” which includes a private tour of the Falls, a tour of Livingstone town and its history and the Ebenezer Children’s Home & Mukuni Village.
Day 12 Departure (B)
After a morning at leisure you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Livingstone and connecting flight to Johannesburg. Arrive into Johannesburg and connect to your South African Airways Flight to JFK.
Day 13 Arrive into the USA
We can substitute Ulusaba Rock Lodge with Tuningi Safari Lodge in the Malaria Free Madikwe Private Game Reserve.
