Day 2 Nairobi: Norfolk Hotel
Arrive into London in the morning and connect with your British Airways flight to Nairobi. Upon arrival into the Nairobi Airport, you will be met by an AfricaTours representative and escorted to your hotel. Since it’s opening on Christmas Day 1904, this hotel has delighted and impressed generations with its service, luxurious style and unfailing high standards. The hotel’s immaculate gardens, rickshaw, oxcart, and vintage car recall an earlier, more elegant age. The restaurants, bars and dining room are rich in history, enhanced by up-to-the-minute facilities and amenities. The Norfolk is located in downtown Nairobi opposite the National Theater and close to some of the most exclusive shops and restaurants in East Africa. All rooms have color TV, central video systems, Reuters Newswatch and CNN International broadcasts, telephone, minibar, 24 hour room service and en-suite facilities. After breakfast, drive to Aberdares Country Club for lunch. In the afternoon, drive to a ‘tree hotel' where game can be watched all night from the terrace facing the flood-lit waterholes. Set in the heart of the Aberdare National Park this unique “tree-lodge” overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt-lick that attracts a host of wildlife — elephant, rhino, leopard, bushbuck and occasionally the rare and elusive bongo or giant forest hog. Named after Noah’s Ark, the Ark in designed with “decks” from which numerous balconies and lounges provide superb vantage points for game viewing. Guests stay overnight in “cabins” fitted with en-suite facilities and buzzers to announce the arrival of one of the “Big Five” at the salt-lick.

Day 4 Samburu Game Reserve: Samburu Intrepids Club (BLD)
After breakfast, drive to the Samburu Game Reserve and Samburu Intrepids Club. In the afternoon, enjoy an afternoon game drive and return to your tented camp with comfortably furnished twin-bedded tents. Spend the night under the star-lit skies with the sounds of nature just outside your tent. Samburu Intrepids Club is a new luxury tented lodge set deep in the Samburu National Reserve. It lies under a canopy of giant fig and acacia trees along the banks of the cool and inviting Uaso Nyiro River. A spacious deck surrounds the public rooms — dining room, lounge and bar — where al fresco eating and relaxing are the order of the day. Sleeping accommodation is in regal tents, with luxurious and elegant furniture crafted in African mahogany. The large and airy en suite bathrooms have a marble finish and are fitted with flush toilets, a shower and double wash-hand basins. Each tent has a private terrace. Activities include swimming, game drives and walking. The ruggedly beautiful Samburu National Reserve is famed for the variety of its wildlife and the splendor of its bird. This is the place to see the reticulated giraffe, the beisa oryx, gerenuk and Grevy’s zebra, animals rarely found south of the equator.

Day 5 Samburu Game Reserve: Samburu Intrepids Club (BLD)
Enjoy a full day of game viewing with TWO morning game drives and one afternoon game drive. This unique reserve is not only geographically different, but it’s also unique in the wildlife to be seen, including the long-necked gerenuk, Grevy's zebra and the reticulated giraffe.

Day 6 Mt. Kenya: Mt. Kenya Safari Club/Sweetwaters Tented Camp (BLD)
After an early morning game drive, drive to the famous Mount Kenya Safari Club. Spend the afternoon taking advantage of the facilities in this luxurious club — tennis, golf, horse-back riding and much more. If you prefer more game viewing, then you may wish to choose Sweetwaters.

Day 7 Masai Mara National Park: Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp (BLD)
After breakfast, FLY to the Masai Mara. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive. You will be staying in Kichwa Tembo, which in English means Elephant Head Camp. This well-established permanent tented camp is situated at the foot of the Oloololo escarpment on the edge of the riverine forest in the magnificent Masai Mara game reserve. Your tent is stylish and spacious with twin beds, and en suite bathroom with hot shower, toilet and electrical hurricane lamp. Best of all is your own shaded verandah with canvas camp chairs and a stunning view. Dawn and late afternoon are prime game viewing times but there is a lot to do between game drives. You can go on game walks with the resident ornithologist and see how many of the hundred resident species you can identify, take a swim in the pool or just relax in your tent.

Day 8 Masai Mara National Park: Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp (BLD)
Spend the day venturing deeper into the Mara with two morning game drives and one afternoon game drive. The Masai Mara is unrivaled in the abundance and variety of game.

Day 9 Amboseli National Park: Tortillis Camp (BLD)
After breakfast, FLY to Nairobi, enjoy lunch at Carnivore restaurant. After lunch, drive to Amboseli National Park. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive in the environs of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro on the southern border of Kenya. At dusk, you’ll return to your camp. Tortillis Camp is a welcoming blend of rustic style and modern comfort. Named after the local Tortillis Acacia trees, the luxury tented camp is designed to make the international traveler feel comfortable in Africa. This new lodge is the brainchild of Stefano and Max Cheli and Liz Peacock who have made their reputation in high quality, tailored safaris for visitors seeking a personal view of Kenya. Guests at the camp will be transported off the beaten track to enjoy the camp’s totally unspoiled setting. Sheltered to the south by a grove of umbrella trees and facing out over unrivaled views of Africa’s most spectacular Mount Kilimanjaro. The camp sits on the edge of the park itself, on the plains owned by the Masai people. This unique setting provides the double advantage of ready access to the herds of game that live outside the park as well as game drives within the park itself. The camp offers 15 specially designed luxury tents. Each tent has an extra large semi-circular verandah allowing guests a breathtaking view from the privacy of their own tents.

Day 10 Amboseli National Park: Tortillis Camp (BLD)
Enjoy two-morning and afternoon game drives.

Day 11 Tarangire National Park: Tarangire Treetops Lodge (BLD)
After a morning game drive and breakfast, you will be driven to the border town of Namanga for custom formalities before crossing the border into Tanzania, and stopping in Arusha for lunch. Arusha is nestled at the base of Mount Meru, Africa's fourth largest mountain (14,979 ft). After lunch, continue on to Tarangire. Tarangire is one of the largest national parks in Tanzania, measuring some 1,000 square miles. The first thing to capture the eye as you enter Tarangire is the vast numbers of Baobab trees, which dwarf the animals feeding beneath them. Masai giraffe, Grant's and Thompson's gazelle, hartebeest, impala, kudu, reedbuck, gerenuk, klipspringer, fox and the usual collections of baboons, warthog and ostrich abound. During the dry season from June to November, animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provide the only permanent water supply in Masai land. Tarangire Treetops features 20 luxury en-suite rooms, built atop tree-attached platforms, overlooking the Tarangire Sand River. This is an innovative and stunningly original property consisting of large tree houses built upon platforms amongst a cluster of Baobab, Mopani and Wild Fig Trees that are superbly blended into the environment. The dining area is situated close to the swimming pool and elephant water hole. Each en-suite unit has a private veranda and lounge area, with sweeping views over the private Conservation area. Tarangire Treetops is located within the 57,000 acre Tarangire Conservation Area. This partnership with the villages of Lokisale and Makayuni provides revenue for community development such as the building of schools and dispensaries, grading of roads and erection of water-pumps. In exchange for these benefits the local communities limit farming and grazing and put a stop all poaching, deforestation and charcoal burning, thus ensuring the habitat protection that will return the area to its natural state.

Day 12 Ngorongoro Crater:
Ngorongoro Serena Lodge (BLD)
After a morning game drive and breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the world's hallowed places — a giant amphitheater ten miles across; "stamped like a hoofprint deep into the green hills of Africa" says one writer. The floor of this ancient volcanic crater encompasses a self-contained ecosystem, which sustains the greatest concentration of wildlife on earth! The Ngorongoro Serena Lodge is constructed of local stone and is molded onto the contours of its site. The Ngorongoro Serena affords to its guests breath-taking views of the 102 square mile Crater below and of the wealth of the surroundings animal and bird life. All 75 rooms are equipped with environmentally friendly heat exchange units and the roof-scape has been constructed in such a fashion that it collects significant amounts of fresh water from rainwater thus conserving this precious local commodity.

Day 13 Ngorongoro Crater: Ngorongoro Serena Lodge (BLD)
Enjoy a magical crater tour. As you descend into the 100 square mile crater, the inert dots viewed from the top come to life and animals appear in small groups, like actors on a sunken stage of staggering and relentless beauty. Soon you are eye-to-eye with the animals, the beloved little "Tommie" with ever-flagging black tail, buffalo, rhino, lion, zebra, giraffe and elephant — acting out a drama of life and death on an epic scale. There are birds too, in abundance — vultures, hideous pink-necked marabou storks and thousands upon thousands of greater and lesser flamingos wading carefully through the shallow waters of the crater's small soda lake.

Day 14 Serengeti National Park: Serena Lodge (BLD)
After breakfast, you will be driven to the Serengeti with a stop at the Olduvai Gorge en-route. Enjoy an afternoon game drive en-route to the lodge. The Serengeti National Park, a 12,800 square mile wilderness of semi-arid grasslands and woodlands in Tanzania's northwestern corner, is the pulsating heart of East Africa. Its immense grass oceans and riverine forests are home to the greatest concentration of large predators and plains game in Africa. The Serengeti's pulse beats to the migration cycle. In the spring, the bright green of the grass gives the Serengeti an air of sparkling freshness. Then, the meadows reverberate with the thunder of millions of hooves — with the snarls of hyenas and hunting dogs in hot pursuit — as vast hordes of wildebeest and zebra begin their great annual migration: the most impressive wildlife pageant on earth. Sitting atop a hill, with endless views over the Serengeti plains, the design and construction of Serengeti Serena has been executed in such a fashion that the lodge merges into the surrounding landscape. The cluster of startlingly elegant huts was inspired by the design of a traditional African village. The huts house Serengeti Serena’s 65 rooms, and all are en-suite with shower and toilet. Enjoy the sunset by the swimming pool and marvel at the panoramic views from the bedrooms and public areas. The lodge is rich in indigenous handicrafts and art such as a woodcarving, bead making and pottery with both practical and decorative

Day 15 Serengeti National Park: Serena Lodge (BLD)
Enjoy more of some of the best game viewing in Africa with a morning and afternoon game drive.

Day 16 Lake Manyara: Serena Lodge (BLD)
After breakfast you will be driven to Lake Manyara. Enjoy a game drive en-route to the lodge.  Although it covers a relatively small area, it contains five distinct vegetation zones ranging from an area of ground water forest to characteristic scrubland on the precipitous face of the Rift Valley wall. A variety of wildlife such as buffalo, elephant, leopard, lions (sometimes seen on trees), giraffe and pink flamingoes on the lakeshore, are abundant. Twenty-five spacious bungalows provide luxurious accommodation for all guests.  All bungalows have been designed in the Maasai style and decorated internally with exquisite furnishings and carvings continuing the Maasai theme. Each bungalow is a private suite with its own balcony offering panoramic views of Lake Miwaleni and the towering escarpment.

Day 17 Departure (B)
After breakfast you depart Manyara, drive to Arusha for lunch. After lunch in Arusha complete formalities and travel to Nairobi via a Pollmans Vehicle which will transfer you to the Nairobi Airport for your departing British Airways flight.

Day 18
