Day 3 South Luangwa: Nkwali Camp (BLD)
After breakfast, make your way to the International Terminal. FLY to Lusaka, where you will board your scheduled charter flight to Mfuwe. Arrive into Mfuwe, where you will be met by a camp representative and escorted to the lodge. The Luangwa Valley was formed by the same massive forces, which created the East African Rift. Located some 600 kilometers from Lusaka, the capital of Zambia, the vast South Luangwa National Park covers an area of 5,611 sq. miles and averages 1,968 feet in altitude. The meandering Luangwa River dominates the Valley floor. This river is dynamic and constantly changing its course. The resulting lagoons and sandbanks attract an abundance of wildlife. The birds, some 400 recorded species, are spectacular and colorful. With three distinct habitats, the river, the adjoining lagoons and the plains, there is a wide diversity of game. Nkwali is located on Robin's private land, overlooking the National Park. The land is superb game viewing country, with a beautiful area of ebony woodland and open grasslands. Elephants regularly cross the Luangwa, seen from the bar, or come to the waterhole near the thatched dining room. The chalets are cool and spacious, overlooking the river. Access to the park is by boat or our nearby pontoon. The area is famous for leopard and giraffe sightings. Nkwali is open all year and the seasons are basically divided into the “dry season” (mid May – October) and the “green season” (November – mid May). There are 6 rooms for a maximum of 12 guests, each with en-suite bathrooms. Enjoy walking safaris, game drives and night game drives.

Day 4 South Luangwa Valley: Nkwali Camp (BLD)
Enjoy a full day of game viewing. A typical day - if there is such a thing - starts with the wake up call just before dawn. Tea and coffee, cereals and toast are announced soon after, and then the walk or drive leaves the camp. A mid morning stop with tea/coffee and cake keeps you going until you return to the camp anytime between 9:30 am and mid-day. After brunch, there is a chance to rest, read or spend a few quite hours at the hide. At 4:00 pm, following afternoon tea and cake, the afternoon game drive or walk leaves the camp. The drive takes sundowners and continue with a night game drive returning to the camp at around 8:00 pm. Drinks at the bar, a delicious three course dinner and a nightcap sitting around the camp fire, under the stars finishes the day in the bush. Fall into bed at around 10:30 pm, as the hyenas call.

Day 5 South Luangwa Valley: Tena Tena (BLD)
After a morning game drive and breakfast you will be driven to Tena Tena. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive. "Tena Tena Camp is altogether beyond superlatives, and must be one of the best safari camps in the whole of Africa". This remote and small camp lies within the National Park and enjoys a stunning location on a sweeping bend of the Luangwa River. A grove of mahogany trees shade the large custom-made tents. From the thatched dining room and bar, guests can watch the elephants, hippo and antelope on the river banks. Near by there is a spectacular lagoon, Buca Buca, where a whole morning can be spent quietly sitting while the game comes down to feed and drink. With the camp being remote and small, we have these scenes to ourselves. Tena Tena is open from May to October. There are 5 rooms for a maximum of 8-10 guests, each with en-suite bathrooms. Enjoy walking safaris, game drives and night game drives.

Day 6 South Luangwa Valley: Tena Tena (BLD)
Enjoy a full day of game viewing.

Day 7 South Luangwa Valley: Tena Tena (BLD)
Enjoy a full day of game viewing.

Day 8 South Luangwa Valley: Nsefu Camp (BLD)
After a morning game drive and breakfast you will be driven to Nsefu Camp. Enjoy an afternoon of game viewing. On a sweeping bend of the river, 12 kilometers north of Tena Tena, lies Nsefu. Nsefu was the first photographic safari camp in Zambia and dates back to the early fifties. The Nsefu Sector was recognized then as a phenomenal area and it still is. We re-opened the camp in 1999, in keeping with the original style, and so operate the only two camps in the Nsefu Sector of the park. The view of the river is superb and includes a terraced area where game grazes during the day. The bar, tucked in beside a huge extinct termite mound, overlooks a waterhole that is very productive for game, especially leopard at night. The original rondavels have been extended, with a spacious bathroom added. Each room has a clear view of the river, through large windows and from the new wooden verandah. The camp lies in the heart of the undeveloped Nsefu sector and so offers charm and total comfort in remoteness and seclusion. Nsefu is open from May to October. There are 6 rooms for a maximum of 12 guests, each with en-suite bathrooms. Enjoy walking safaris, game drives and night game drives.

Day 9 South Luangwa Valley: Nsefu Camp (BLD)
Enjoy a full day of game viewing.

Day 10 Livingstone: Royal Livingstone (B)
After breakfast, transfer to Mfuwe for your scheduled charter flight to Livingstone via Lusaka. Arrive into Livingstone, where you will be met by an AfricaTours representative and escorted to the hotel. The Royal Livingstone is a 5 Star resort located within the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls. Every detail has been lovingly crafted to create the impression of being in another place in time, a time of romance and adventure. The bedrooms are two-story clusters inspired by the grand estate houses of a bygone era. Each cluster comprises 10 en-suite air-conditioned rooms with private balconies and terraces that offer spectacular views of the great river and beyond. Each room offers a quiet retreat from the ruggedness of Africa, with large shaded verandas and open spaces cooled by swirling fans and tall shutters. The travelers bar and lounge is a place where guests can relax under thatched shade, decorated in harmonious greens, creams and ebony. With its comfortable armchairs and low ottomans the lounge is a place to enjoy an impeccably served high tea or to linger longer over some fine port or cigar. The a la carte restaurant will serve a range of exquisite delicacies from around the world. The Royal Livingstone is a place to enjoy the majesties of Africa with all the charms of a bygone era. It promises to introduce an unparalleled level of luxury, service and sophistication to the region. DAY VISITOR CENTER: Located near the main road and in close proximity of the Zambezi Sun (sister property to The Royal Livingstone), this facility caters for day visitors to the Falls. The center provides access to quick and easy booking for adventure activities such as white water rafting and bungee jumping. The less adventurous might like to choose from sundowner cruises, game drives, bird watching and cycling safaris.

Day 11 Livingstone: Royal Livingstone (B)
This morning you will be met at the hotel for a private, guided tour of the Falls. One of the seven natural wonders of the world the Victoria Falls is a truly spectacular sight. On your guided tour, of the Zambian side, of the Falls you will have the opportunity to experience its awesome unspoilt grandeur as your guide explains how this 150-million-year-old phenomenon was created. During peak flow (January to June) the Zambian side of the Falls is considered to be the most spectacular.
