Day 3 South Luangwa: Kapani Safari Lodge (BLD)
After breakfast, make your way to the International Terminal. FLY to Lusaka, where you will board your scheduled charter flight to Mfuwe. Arrive into Mfuwe, where you will be met by a camp representative and escorted to the lodge. The Luangwa Valley was formed by the same massive forces, which created the East African Rift. Located some 600 kilometers from Lusaka, the capital of Zambia, the vast South Luangwa National Park covers an area of 5,611 sq. miles and averages 1,968 feet in altitude. The meandering Luangwa River dominates the Valley floor. This river is dynamic and constantly changing its course. The resulting lagoons and sandbanks attract an abundance of wildlife. The birds, some 400 recorded species, are spectacular and colorful. With three distinct habitats, the river, the adjoining lagoons and the plains, there is a wide diversity of game. Kapani is an exclusive, private camp situated on the banks of one of the many ox-bow lagoons in the South Luangwa. It accommodates just twenty guests and is open throughout the year. Each of the eight standard suites has its own lounge with bar fridge and the beds have overhead fans inside their walk-in mosquito nets. Our two Lagoon Houses are even more spacious with private views and elegant furniture. The camp is on mains electricity and offers most modern facilities. A thatched building in the centre of the camp houses the lounge and library. It is pleasantly cool in the hot weather and warm and cozy in the cooler months with an open fire. The bar and dining area is set on a deck overlooking the Kapani Lagoon. According to the season, dining is al fresco with dinner taken on the terrace, on the spacious deck, by the swimming pool or in the lounge. Private dinners can also be arranged for guests seeking a little more seclusion. We have a small gift shop offering books and local crafts as well as a secluded swimming pool at the far end of camp. Kapani means – place of mopane trees.

Day 4 South Luangwa Valley: Kapani Safari Lodge (BLD)
Enjoy a full day of game viewing. A typical day - if there is such a thing - starts with the wake up call just before dawn. Tea and coffee, cereals and toast are announced soon after, and then the walk or drive leaves the camp. A mid morning stop with tea/coffee and cake keeps you going until you return to the camp anytime between 9:30 am and mid-day. After brunch, there is a chance to rest, read or spend a few quite hours at the hide. At 4:00 pm, following afternoon tea and cake, the afternoon game drive or walk leaves the camp. The drive takes sundowners and continue with a night game drive returning to the camp at around 8:00 pm. Drinks at the bar, a delicious three course dinner and a nightcap sitting around the camp fire, under the stars finishes the day in the bush. Fall into bed at around 10:30 pm, as the hyenas call.

Day 5 South Luangwa Valley: Kapani Safari Lodge (BLD)
Enjoy a full day of game viewing.

Day 6 South Luangwa Valley: Nsolo Bushcamp (BLD)
After a morning game drive and breakfast you will be driven to Nsolo Bushcamp. Enjoy an afternoon game walk. Nsolo Camp is a romantic, thatched camp, situated on a waterhole in the shade of a large grove of trees. Accommodation consists of four open-fronted rooms, built on raised wooden platforms under a thatched roof. Where possible, the natural features have been incorporated into the structure. At night, the canvas curtains can be drawn for added security. The bathrooms, as with all of our bushcamps, are open to the trees and stars above. The main chitenje hosts the bar and a small library of books. This is an excellent place to relax during the heat of the day and watch the constant activity at the waterhole in front of the camp.

Day 7 South Luangwa Valley:
Nsolo Bushcamp (BLD)
Enjoy a full day of game viewing.

Day 8 South Luangwa Valley: Mchenja Bushcamp (BLD)
After a morning game drive and breakfast you will be driven to Mchenja Bushcamp. Enjoy an afternoon of game viewing. Mchenja, meaning "the ebony tree", is set beneath a magnificent grove of these trees on the banks of the Luangwa River. Although this camp takes luxury in the bush to a level not previously seen in Zambia, it is designed to combine excellently with our other more rustic bushcamps. The camp comprises five stylishly designed tents each under its own thatched roof, and each with private en-suite shower and bathroom facilities and inside bath. There is a small pool alongside the bar within the thatched main chitenje, allowing guests to seek cool refuge during the heat of the day. Mchenja is the perfect destination to complete a walking safari that has combined stays at a number of our camps. Alternatively, those guests seeking a little more luxury and pampering may choose to combine a longer stay here, either walking or driving, with a number of nights at the main lodge.

Day 9 South Luangwa Valley:
Mchenja Bushcamp (BLD)
Enjoy a full day of game viewing.

Day 10 Livingstone:
Royal Livingstone (B)
After breakfast, transfer to Mfuwe for your scheduled charter flight to Livingstone via Lusaka. Arrive into Livingstone, where you will be met by an AfricaTours representative and escorted to the hotel. The Royal Livingstone is a 5 Star resort located within the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls. Every detail has been lovingly crafted to create the impression of being in another place in time, a time of romance and adventure. The bedrooms are two-story clusters inspired by the grand estate houses of a bygone era. Each cluster comprises 10 en-suite air-conditioned rooms with private balconies and terraces that offer spectacular views of the great river and beyond. Each room offers a quiet retreat from the ruggedness of Africa, with large shaded verandas and open spaces cooled by swirling fans and tall shutters. The travelers bar and lounge is a place where guests can relax under thatched shade, decorated in harmonious greens, creams and ebony. With its comfortable armchairs and low ottomans the lounge is a place to enjoy an impeccably served high tea or to linger longer over some fine port or cigar. The a la carte restaurant will serve a range of exquisite delicacies from around the world. The Royal Livingstone is a place to enjoy the majesties of Africa with all the charms of a bygone era. It promises to introduce an unparalleled level of luxury, service and sophistication to the region. DAY VISITOR CENTER: Located near the main road and in close proximity of the Zambezi Sun (sister property to The Royal Livingstone), this facility caters for day visitors to the Falls. The center provides access to quick and easy booking for adventure activities such as white water rafting and bungee jumping. The less adventurous might like to choose from sundowner cruises, game drives, bird watching and cycling safaris.

Day 11 Livingstone: Royal Livingstone (B)
This morning you will be met at the hotel for a private, guided tour of the Falls. One of the seven natural wonders of the world the Victoria Falls is a truly spectacular sight. On your guided tour, of the Zambian side, of the Falls you will have the opportunity to experience its awesome unspoilt grandeur as your guide explains how this 150-million-year-old phenomenon was created. During peak flow (January to June) the Zambian side of the Falls is considered to be the most spectacular.
