Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1 Northern Zambia: Shiwa House (LD)
FLY from Mfuwe to Shiwa N’gandu. Shiwa N'gandu is in the remote heart of northern Zambian, a majestic home built in the wilderness over 80 years ago. Three years ago, this remarkable house and estate of Sir Stewart Gore-Browne and his wife Lorna was on the brink on collapse. However, their grandson Charlie Harvey and his wife Jo have taken on the job of renovating this amazing property and have opened it to the public. They are always on hand and do the hosting themselves. Their insight into how the house came about and the task of building this "English Country Home" in the African bush is in itself worth the trip. At present the house can accommodate 4 -5 couples. All rooms are simple with original hardwood furnishings and paintings and en-suite bathrooms. Fireplaces are lit every night and the atmosphere at Shiwa is unique. The food is good, simple wholesome farm fare. The garden is full of beautiful flowers and the lawns well maintained. Guests have complete run of the house and many spend hours enjoying the library of Sir Stewart's books, record collections and in the archives. Outdoors, there is plenty to do with game viewing, boating on the lake, fishing, and superb bird watching, horse riding for the experienced, river walks, historical drives and walks, meeting the people on the estate, visiting the schools and hospital and on going projects.

Enjoy a full day of activities.
Day 3 Departure (B)
After breakfast and a morning activity, you will be driven to the airstrip for your flight to Lusaka. FLY to Lusaka.
